ideaSomeone has suggested the idea of organising a
Barcamp-style event in Cardiff (Glyn or Martin suggested it I think?). It's an unconference format where anyone can do a presentation. A bit more structured than Trydan cafe meet-ups but still open to topics and people.
Here's a page for idea gathering. Since the Trydan wiki already exists and people who might be interested are here, let's discuss it here. It may or may not be called Trydan.
Feel free to add things.

Carl Morris Twitter I'd like to lurk in any good presentations by academics. I'm still thinking about what I might present.
I could talk about the multilingual web if there's any interest. (One other person is enough for me!) [I'd be interested - Geoff]

I'd certainly like to attend and it sounds like an ideal opportunity to get some thoughts on possible ways of resurrecting welshnet, an old project I was involved with. Depending on the numbers I might be able to arrange a venue too, it's a conference room with internet and presentation facilities but it only seats 10-12 I think. It does have a pub next door to it though :)@markheseltine | nice idea. It feels like the right time for such an event

@Foomandoonian | Assuming it doesn't conflict with anything important, I'd make the effort to attend.

@hrwaldram | Think now would be a good time for this and I would definitely attend and be happy to help organise or help out on the day if needed.

@mweller | I'd like to use it to explore doing more fun/exploratory type presentations. Happy to talk on digital scholarship, blogging, zombies, etc.

@day_jess I'd be interested in coming along if I can. I'm working on a research project about online campaigning (www.ecampaigningreview.com for last year's report) and would be happy to talk on this if anyone's interested.
please put your name here if you're interested in attendingtopicsWe will explore the subject of applied technology engendering participation in society.
We definitely want to share ideas across disciplines, e.g. journalists showing academics things and vice-versa. So we'd like to design an event which allows that to happen Some assorted thoughts, tweak them if you want:
- digital, networked and open
- the above 3 as practices - as well as tools
- talking about your interesting project
- more
guidelinesIt seemed to be generally agreed that we wanted this to be exploratory, fun and about idea sharing - not a "networking" event for selling or drumming up business. (Leave your business cards at home!)
